Okay, we just watched The Devil Wears Prada on HBO or some movie channel – again. At this point, I should probably be embarassed, or just plain ashamed. I really love that movie even though there’s a few things that really bug me:
I don’t like Christian Thompson’s eyebrows
Anne Hathaway and Adrien Grenier really don’t have any chemistry
Okay, so I’ve seen the movie a few times. Like 10. Should I feel bad? Maybe. But then, who am I trying to impress? And it’s not like I’m doing anything illegal either. I mean, the movie police are not going to come to my house anytime and cite me for multiple viewings.
My husband, who we have lovingly nicknamed Captain Obvious actually said upon this 6 PM viewing:
“This is a clever little movie that I don’t mind watching more than once.”
Wow.
And then I started thinking, as I age, things aren’t much different from when my kids were very little and watched movies over and over and over and over. I think I saw Charlotte’s Web (the cartoon/musical) about 5 million times. I’ve also watched The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Practical Magic more times than I can count. Either I’m a movie buff or “special.”
