When it comes right down to it, the little things in life really do matter. A current copy of People, Pasta Pomodoro and a glass of California Zinfandel…nothing gets better than that. All too often, when my friends and coworkers discuss politics, world events or sports scores, I smile and nod my head like a little monkey. Because a lot of times I just don’t care.
I work really hard and in my downtime I gravitate toward lighter fare. Like:
- TV – Top Chef, American Idol, Project Runway, No Reservations
- Books: The Devil Wears Prada, Forever Amber (yeah, I’m reading it for the 2nd time)
- Movies: Make me laugh, please. Please.
Yes, I don’t know what Obama said in his latest speech but if you wanna know who got booted off Idol, why Brittney is vacationing with Mel, or how great Kate looks in a bikini I’m your girl.
As my good friend Petey likes to say, Life beats you down, and you get nicer. Or if you don’t listen, LIFE GETS LOUDER. I like that one. So, the light stuff keeps me bubblin’. Like a good glass of champagne a chick-lit novel goes down much easier these days than a tome about global warming. But that’s just me.
That’s why I decided to write a novel about what I love best: movie stars, gossip and murder.
